These pumpkin-shaped sliders are a fun and delicious treat perfect for fall and Halloween gatherings. Customizable and easy to make, they add a festive touch to your table.

- 1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (360g)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
- Kitchen twine or unflavored dental floss (for shaping)
- Optional: rosemary sprigs or pecan halves for stems
- Extra butter for brushing
- Fillings (choose any combination you like):
- Roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, and arugula
- Ham, cheddar, and Dijon mustard
- Grilled veggies and hummus
- Caprese (mozzarella, tomato, and basil)
- Chicken salad or tuna salad
Instructions
- Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until bubbly.
- Combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture, egg, and butter. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough in an oiled bowl. Let it rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Divide the dough into 12 balls. Tie them loosely with twine in a crisscross pattern to form pumpkin ridges.
- Place on a parchment-lined sheet. Let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly. Remove twine and insert rosemary or pecan stems into the tops. Brush with melted butter.
- Slice the buns and fill with your chosen ingredients.
Notes
For best results, use accurate measurements and don’t pull the twine too tightly while shaping the sliders.
