Description

These pumpkin-shaped sliders are a fun and delicious treat perfect for fall and Halloween gatherings. Customizable and easy to make, they add a festive touch to your table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (360g)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • Kitchen twine or unflavored dental floss (for shaping)
  • Optional: rosemary sprigs or pecan halves for stems
  • Extra butter for brushing
  • Fillings (choose any combination you like):
  • Roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, and arugula
  • Ham, cheddar, and Dijon mustard
  • Grilled veggies and hummus
  • Caprese (mozzarella, tomato, and basil)
  • Chicken salad or tuna salad

Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture, egg, and butter. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough in an oiled bowl. Let it rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Divide the dough into 12 balls. Tie them loosely with twine in a crisscross pattern to form pumpkin ridges.
  5. Place on a parchment-lined sheet. Let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden.
  7. Cool slightly. Remove twine and insert rosemary or pecan stems into the tops. Brush with melted butter.
  8. Slice the buns and fill with your chosen ingredients.

Notes

For best results, use accurate measurements and don’t pull the twine too tightly while shaping the sliders.
