Crispy, warm apple fries coated in panko breadcrumbs, perfect for a sweet snack or dessert.

- 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Peel (if desired) and slice apples into fry-like sticks. Pat dry with a paper towel.
- Set up three coating stations: flour in one bowl, whisked egg and milk in another, mixed panko breadcrumbs with sugar and cinnamon in the last.
- Dredge apple sticks in flour, dip into egg mixture, then coat with panko mixture.
- Spray coated apple fries with nonstick spray; place in air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking halfway through.
- Remove when golden and crispy, serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with almond flour and ensure your panko is gluten-free.
