Description

Crispy, warm apple fries coated in panko breadcrumbs, perfect for a sweet snack or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Peel (if desired) and slice apples into fry-like sticks. Pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. Set up three coating stations: flour in one bowl, whisked egg and milk in another, mixed panko breadcrumbs with sugar and cinnamon in the last.
  3. Dredge apple sticks in flour, dip into egg mixture, then coat with panko mixture.
  4. Spray coated apple fries with nonstick spray; place in air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  5. Remove when golden and crispy, serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with almond flour and ensure your panko is gluten-free.
