Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms. Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in size.
  6. Prepare a baking soda solution by dissolving baking soda in a pot of boiling water.
  7. Boil each pretzel ball for about 30 seconds, then remove and place them on a parchment-lined tray.
  8. Beat the egg and brush it over the pretzel bites, then sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  9. Air fry in batches for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
