  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan with flour.
  2. Combine the almond paste, softened butter, and sugar in a large bowl. Beat until creamy and smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the almond extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  5. Fold in the sliced almonds gently.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth over the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cake in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
