Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan with flour.
- Combine the almond paste, softened butter, and sugar in a large bowl. Beat until creamy and smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the almond extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in the sliced almonds gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
