Description

A delightful, moist bread that combines the charming taste of homemade apple fritters, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for sprinkling)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for sprinkling)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and milk.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle half of this mixture over the batter.
  8. Add the remaining batter on top, then sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture over it.
  9. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the batter gently for a marbled effect.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  11. Allow the bread to cool while you prepare the glaze by combining powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
  12. Once cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top or serve it alongside.

Notes

Best enjoyed slightly warm; serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
