  • Total Time: 80 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A delightful bread filled with juicy apples and topped with a sweet glaze, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for sprinkling)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for sprinkling)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl; whisk until incorporated.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and milk in another bowl until well blended.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined—it’s okay if there are a few lumps.
  5. Fold in the chopped apples for that fresh, fruity flavor.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon for the topping in a small bowl, then sprinkle half of this mixture over the batter.
  8. Add the remaining batter and top with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Use a knife or skewer to swirl through the batter for a marbled effect.
  10. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center.
  11. Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze while the bread cools.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread, slice it up, and enjoy!

Notes
