Description
A delightful twist on traditional bread and dessert, filled with spiced apple chunks and drizzled with a sweet glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
- In a separate mixing bowl, beat together the sugar, brown sugar, and butter until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time, incorporating them fully into the mixture before adding the next.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, continuing to mix until well blended.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk until you achieve a smooth batter.
- Gently fold in the diced apples, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan. If desired, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.
- Add the remaining batter on top, smoothing it out as necessary.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once cooled, whisk together the powdered sugar and enough milk to create a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the bread before serving.
