- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9×5-inch loaf pans.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the buttermilk until fully combined and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, blending just until combined.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour 1/4 of the batter into each prepared pan and sprinkle with 1/4 of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Add the remaining batter evenly and top with the remaining cinnamon mixture.
- Gently swirl the batter with a knife to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow cooling in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For best results, avoid overmixing and consider adding nuts or fruits for extra flavor. Keep the bread wrapped tightly to maintain freshness.
