  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9×5-inch loaf pans.
  2. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the buttermilk until fully combined and smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, blending just until combined.
  7. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Pour 1/4 of the batter into each prepared pan and sprinkle with 1/4 of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  9. Add the remaining batter evenly and top with the remaining cinnamon mixture.
  10. Gently swirl the batter with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  11. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  12. Allow cooling in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
