- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, diced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
- 2 cups mashed potatoes (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, diced onion, milk, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
- Form the mixture into patties and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the patties to coat them.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until fully cooked with an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
- If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top during the last 5 minutes of baking.
- Serve warm with mashed potatoes.
Notes
Mix thoroughly for the best flavor and texture. Add herbs or Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor. Feel free to use ground turkey or plant-based meat as alternatives.
