Description

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Pour in the water. Stir with a spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
  4. Once rested, turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface. Shape it into a ball.
  5. Transfer the dough to a floured kitchen towel and cover with another towel. Allow it to rest for another 1 to 2 hours.
  6. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with your Dutch oven inside.
  7. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven from the oven. Place the dough inside, cover it with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and continue baking for another 15 to 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For enhanced texture, consider using bread flour instead of all-purpose flour. You can also add herbs or seeds for a personalized touch.
