- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 1/2 cups water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and instant yeast.
- Pour in the water. Stir with a spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
- Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
- Once rested, turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface. Shape it into a ball.
- Transfer the dough to a floured kitchen towel and cover with another towel. Allow it to rest for another 1 to 2 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with your Dutch oven inside.
- Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven from the oven. Place the dough inside, cover it with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and continue baking for another 15 to 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
For enhanced texture, consider using bread flour instead of all-purpose flour. You can also add herbs or seeds for a personalized touch.
