Ingredients
- Pappardelle pasta
- Ground beef
- Ground pork
- Onion, finely chopped
- Carrot, finely chopped
- Celery, finely chopped
- Garlic, minced
- Canned tomatoes or tomato paste
- Red wine
- Olive oil
- Milk
- Salt and pepper
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the ground beef and ground pork, browning the meat thoroughly.
- Pour in red wine and let it simmer until mostly evaporated, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the canned tomatoes or tomato paste, and season with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat and let it simmer on low for 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Add a splash of milk for creaminess before serving.
- Cook the pappardelle according to package instructions, drain, and toss it with the Bolognese sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan and fresh herbs.
