Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, vigorously whisk together the sugar, flour, and salt.
- Gradually mix in the milk, followed by the lemon juice and lemon zest until the mixture is smooth.
- In another bowl, beat the egg yolks until pale and combined well. Slowly add this to the lemon mixture, stirring thoroughly.
- In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites with the cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the lemon mixture, careful not to deflate them.
- Pour the combination into a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top turns golden and is set to the touch.
