  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Carnivore

Description

A traditional Italian dish featuring a stuffed beef roll filled with breadcrumbs, parmesan, and herbs, perfect for family gatherings or elegant dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef filet
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cups tomato sauce
  • Toothpicks or kitchen twine

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  3. Lay the beef filet on a cutting board and pound it gently with a meat mallet until it achieves a uniform thickness of about 1/4-inch.
  4. Spread the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the beef, then roll it up tightly from one end and secure it with toothpicks or kitchen twine.
  5. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Sear the beef roulades on all sides until nicely browned.
  6. Transfer the browned roulades to a baking dish and pour the tomato sauce over the top.
  7. Cover the dish with foil, then place it in the oven to bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  8. Once done, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Consider using alternative herbs in the filling or different types of meat for variations.
