  • Total Time: 135 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: None

Description

A classic comfort food dish featuring tender beef chunks in a rich gravy, perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Beef (chuck roast, top round, bottom round, or steak)
  • 1 Onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Flour (for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat cooking oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Brown the beef on all sides. Once browned, remove it from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet, then add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Bring to a simmer and cover. Cook for 90 minutes, or until the beef becomes tender.
  7. If you prefer a thicker gravy, mix flour with a bit of water to create a slurry, then stir it into the skillet as it cooks.
  8. Serve hot over rice or mashed potatoes.

Notes

For a thicker gravy, ensure to simmer longer and consider adding herbs like thyme or bay leaf for added flavor.
