A classic Italian tiramisu featuring layers of creamy mascarpone and coffee-soaked ladyfingers, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 16 oz mascarpone cheese
- 4 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream (or 4 egg whites)
- ~30 ladyfingers
- 1 1/2 cups strong black coffee
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
Instructions
- Brew 1 1/2 cups of strong black coffee and allow it to cool.
- Whisk together egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and pale.
- Whip mascarpone cheese in a separate bowl until fluffy, then fold in the egg mixture.
- If using heavy cream, whip until stiff peaks form and fold into the mascarpone mixture. Alternatively, whip egg whites until stiff peaks and fold in.
- Dip ladyfingers quickly in cooled coffee and layer half in a baking dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers.
- Repeat the layering process with remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Dust the top with cocoa powder before serving.
Notes
Use quality mascarpone for best results and consider adding flavored liqueurs for a unique twist.
