Description

A classic Italian tiramisu featuring layers of creamy mascarpone and coffee-soaked ladyfingers, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 16 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream (or 4 egg whites)
  • ~30 ladyfingers
  • 1 1/2 cups strong black coffee
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 1/2 cups of strong black coffee and allow it to cool.
  2. Whisk together egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and pale.
  3. Whip mascarpone cheese in a separate bowl until fluffy, then fold in the egg mixture.
  4. If using heavy cream, whip until stiff peaks form and fold into the mascarpone mixture. Alternatively, whip egg whites until stiff peaks and fold in.
  5. Dip ladyfingers quickly in cooled coffee and layer half in a baking dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers.
  7. Repeat the layering process with remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
  8. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Dust the top with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

Use quality mascarpone for best results and consider adding flavored liqueurs for a unique twist.
