Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Blanch fresh green beans in boiling salted water for 3-5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, melt some butter over medium heat, then add sliced onions and cook until caramelized.
- In a separate saucepan, melt more butter and whisk in flour, followed by gradually adding cream and broth to form a creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a baking dish, combine the blanched green beans and caramelized onions, pour the creamy sauce over, and mix thoroughly.
- Top with a layer of French fried onions.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
