  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: None

Description

A comforting recipe for homemade Italian meatballs that are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, perfect for serving with marinara over pasta or in a sub.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil.
  3. Mix the ingredients until just combined—don’t overmix to keep the meatballs tender.
  4. Form the mixture into meatballs, aiming for about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are browned and thoroughly cooked.
  7. Serve hot with marinara sauce over pasta, in a sandwich, or as an appetizer.

Notes

For a leaner option, substitute ground turkey for the beef. For gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
