Description
Big Mac Bowls are a fun and delicious twist on the classic fast-food staple, combining iconic flavors without the bun for a healthier, homemade option.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb. lean ground beef (96/4)
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 tsp. yellow mustard
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- 1/3 cup light mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup dill pickles (chopped)
- 1.5 Tbsp. pickle juice
- 8 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Chopped white onion
- Chopped red onion
- Chopped tomato
- Pickles
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, spray with nonstick cooking spray and add the ground beef and chopped onions. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes.
- Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, yellow mustard, salt, and pepper. Let this simmer for another 2-3 minutes to develop the flavors.
- While the beef simmers, in a separate bowl, mix together the light mayonnaise, ketchup, chopped pickles, and pickle juice until smooth and well-combined.
- To assemble your Big Mac Bowls, start with a base of shredded iceberg lettuce. Top it with the beef mixture, followed by your choice of toppings: shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onions, tomatoes, and extra pickles to your liking.
Notes
Feel free to substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or a plant-based option for a lighter or vegetarian alternative. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
