Instructions

  1. Prepare the Onion: Cut the onion into thin petals, ensuring you don’t cut all the way through the root.
  2. Create Coatings: In a bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
  3. Coat the Onion: Dip the onion in the flour mixture, then in the egg mixture, and coat it thoroughly in breadcrumbs.
  4. Fry Them Up: Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the coated onion in the hot oil and fry until golden and crispy, around 8–10 minutes.
  5. Drain: Once fried, drain the onion on paper towels to eliminate excess oil.
