Description
A delicious appetizer made with crispy bacon wrapped around smoky sausages and coated in caramelized brown sugar.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package Little Smokies (mini smoked sausages)
- 1 package regular-cut bacon (cut in half)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- Black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
- Cut the bacon slices in half to create shorter strips perfect for wrapping.
- Wrap each Little Smokie in a half slice of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.
- Place the brown sugar in a zip-top bag. Add a few bacon-wrapped sausages at a time, gently shaking to coat them well.
- Arrange the coated smokies on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Sprinkle any leftover brown sugar on top and, if desired, add a dash of black pepper for a kick.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes until the bacon gets crispy and the sugar caramelizes.
- Broil for 1–2 minutes for an extra crispy finish, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
- Let them cool slightly before serving and enjoy when warm!
Notes
For better flavor, marinate the Little Smokies in BBQ sauce before wrapping in bacon. For a spicy twist, use cayenne or smoked paprika.
