Brown Sugar Bacon Little Smokies

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x
  • Diet: Omnivore

Description

A delicious appetizer made with crispy bacon wrapped around smoky sausages and coated in caramelized brown sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Little Smokies (mini smoked sausages)
  • 1 package regular-cut bacon (cut in half)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • Black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Cut the bacon slices in half to create shorter strips perfect for wrapping.
  3. Wrap each Little Smokie in a half slice of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.
  4. Place the brown sugar in a zip-top bag. Add a few bacon-wrapped sausages at a time, gently shaking to coat them well.
  5. Arrange the coated smokies on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Sprinkle any leftover brown sugar on top and, if desired, add a dash of black pepper for a kick.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes until the bacon gets crispy and the sugar caramelizes.
  7. Broil for 1–2 minutes for an extra crispy finish, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
  8. Let them cool slightly before serving and enjoy when warm!

Notes

For better flavor, marinate the Little Smokies in BBQ sauce before wrapping in bacon. For a spicy twist, use cayenne or smoked paprika.
