- 2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- Chocolate frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- Colorful sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it and lining it with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a large mixing bowl and add in the sugar, stirring until well mixed.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, blending thoroughly after each. Then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan.
- Once cooled, spread a thin layer of chocolate frosting on top and sprinkle with colorful sprinkles.
- Cut into bars and serve to celebrate!
