Description

A classic comfort food, this creamy green bean casserole with crispy fried onions is perfect for family gatherings and holiday meals.


Ingredients

  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/3 cups French fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 1.5-quart baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and half of the French fried onions. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Bake for about 25 minutes until heated through.
  5. Sprinkle remaining onions on top and bake for another 5-10 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For a crispy topping, broil for a minute or two after baking. You can also add garlic powder or soy sauce for extra flavor.
