Description
A quick and customizable cheesy ground beef burrito perfect for busy weeknights or fun gatherings. Loaded with seasoned beef, cheese, and fresh toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened and fragrant.
- Introduce the ground beef into the skillet. Cook until it’s well-browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Make sure to drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Stir in the taco seasoning along with a splash of water. Let it cook for about 3-4 minutes to ensure the beef is well coated with those flavorful spices. Remove from heat.
- Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until pliable. Spread sour cream on each tortilla to add a creamy layer.
- Spoon the seasoned beef mixture onto the tortillas, then top with lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a generous amount of cheddar cheese.
- Fold in the sides of the tortillas, then roll them up tightly for a perfectly packaged burrito.
- Optional: For a crispy exterior, toast the burritos in a skillet for about 2-3 minutes on each side. Serve with extra salsa or guacamole on the side.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate the beef in lime juice and spices before cooking. Ensure to drain excess fat to keep burritos from being greasy.
