Description
A creamy and savory stuffed mushroom dip, perfect for parties and cozy nights in.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Heat the olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 8-10 minutes, until they are browned and tender.
- Add garlic: Toss in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. You want to make sure it’s fragrant but not burnt!
- Combine the creamy elements: Reduce the heat to low and mix in the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Stir well until they melt together and form a creamy sauce.
- Stir in the cheesy goodness: Now, stir in half of the shredded mozzarella and all of the grated Parmesan cheese. Continue to mix until it’s completely smooth and velvety.
- Bake to perfection: Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the top of the mixture. Transfer the skillet to a preheated oven set at 375°F. Bake for about 15-20 minutes until it’s bubbly and golden brown.
- Finish and serve: Finally, garnish with fresh thyme or parsley, and serve hot with your choice of bread, crackers, or veggie sticks for dipping.
Notes
Consider using different cheese variations or mix in some cooked sausage for added flavor.
