Description

A comforting family favorite featuring crispy chicken, zesty marinara, and gooey cheese, all baked with tender pasta.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie chicken works wonderfully)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the shredded chicken, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for about 5 minutes until everything is well combined and warmed through.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, half of the Parmesan cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Fold the seasoned chicken into the pasta mixture and ensure everything is well-distributed.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. If desired, garnish with fresh basil or parsley.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free pasta and ensure other ingredients are gluten-free.
