Description

Decadent Chocolate Mousse Brownies combine fudgy brownies with rich chocolate mousse for an indulgent dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and granulated sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, remove from heat, and let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then stir into the butter mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. While brownies cool, melt the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl and let cool slightly.
  8. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, gradually adding powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  9. Fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream until combined.
  10. Spread the mousse over the cooled brownie layer and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours to set.
  11. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, replace unsalted butter with coconut oil and heavy cream with coconut cream.
