Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until everything is well combined.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Scoop heaping tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll them into balls, and place them on your prepared baking sheet.
- With your thumb, gently press an indentation in the center of each ball.
- Bake in your preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until set.
- After removing from the oven, immediately fill each thumbprint with a small dollop of chocolate ganache.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving.

For gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend. Roll dough into balls for even shape and create thumbprints gently.
