Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Sugar for coating
- Optional: Cinnamon, chocolate sauce, caramel, or dulce de leche for dipping
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring the water, salt, and sugar to a rolling boil.
- Once boiling, add the flour and stir quickly until a thick dough forms.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before transferring the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped nozzle.
- In a deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
- Pipe the dough into the hot oil, cutting it to your desired length.
- Fry the churros until they are golden brown on all sides, which should take about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from oil and immediately roll each churro in sugar (you can add cinnamon if desired).
Notes
Churros are best enjoyed fresh and warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or freeze for up to a month.
