- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk or cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter.
- Combine the dry and wet ingredients until just mixed, being careful not to overmix.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
- Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared dish and sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture over it.
- Add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon mixture, swirling with a knife.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth for the glaze and drizzle over the cooled cake before serving.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use almond milk and replace butter with coconut oil. Adding a dash of sour cream can enhance the gooey texture.
