Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry mixture and sour cream, starting and ending with the flour. Mix just until combined.
- Stir in the milk until the batter is smooth.
- Blend brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Drizzle melted butter into the mixture and stir until a paste forms.
- Spoon a heaping tablespoon of batter into each cupcake liner. Top with a spoonful of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Use a toothpick or small knife to swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter, creating a marbled effect.
- Top with another heaping tablespoon of batter, filling liners about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl for the glaze. Drizzle over cooled cupcakes.
