- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for the dough)
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
- 1/4 cup melted butter (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar.
- Cut in the cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk gently until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it gently—don’t overdo it!
- Cut the dough into small bite-sized pieces and place them on your prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- While they bake, combine the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and ground cinnamon in a bowl.
- As soon as they come out of the oven, brush the bites with the melted butter and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute almond milk and for a healthier option, consider whole wheat flour.
