- 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, marinate the chicken with yogurt, minced garlic, grated ginger, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, coriander, and salt. Let it sit for at least 1 hour.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Add the marinated chicken to the pan including all the marinade. Cook until the chicken is browned.
- Stir in the tomato puree and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and the remaining butter. Stir until well combined and warmed through.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
Notes
Marinate the chicken overnight for a more flavorful dish. Adjust the heat by adding more garam masala or chili powder if desired.
