Description

A comforting and rich dish featuring marinated chicken thighs in a creamy tomato sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, marinate the chicken with yogurt, minced garlic, grated ginger, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, coriander, and salt. Let it sit for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add the marinated chicken to the pan including all the marinade. Cook until the chicken is browned.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and the remaining butter. Stir until well combined and warmed through.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.

Notes

Marinate the chicken overnight for a more flavorful dish. Adjust the heat by adding more garam masala or chili powder if desired.
