Description
A delightful and easy-to-prepare classic Southern pecan pie, perfect for holidays and family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Press the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate, crimping the edges as desired.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk the lightly beaten eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract together.
- Pour the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well until smooth.
- Fold in the pecan halves, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the filling.
- Pour this mixture into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust becomes golden brown. If it browns too quickly, loosely tent the crust with aluminum foil.
- Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
Notes
Pair with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for added enjoyment. Store leftovers at room temperature for up to three days.
