Description

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • 2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • Melted butter (for brushing, optional)
  • Sesame seeds or flaky salt (optional toppings)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Gradually add the warm water, milk, and softened butter into the flour mixture. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl. Cover it and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough gently and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Cover the shaped loaf and let it rise again for 30–40 minutes until puffy.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the loaf for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Optionally, brush the warm loaf with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds or flaky salt before cooling completely.

Notes

For a healthier twist, substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour. Ensure the warm water is around 110°F (43°C) for best yeast activation.
