- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1½ teaspoons salt
- 2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons softened butter
- Melted butter (for brushing, optional)
- Sesame seeds or flaky salt (optional toppings)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Gradually add the warm water, milk, and softened butter into the flour mixture. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl. Cover it and let it rise for about 1 hour.
- Once risen, punch down the dough gently and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover the shaped loaf and let it rise again for 30–40 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the loaf for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
- Optionally, brush the warm loaf with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds or flaky salt before cooling completely.
Notes
For a healthier twist, substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour. Ensure the warm water is around 110°F (43°C) for best yeast activation.
