  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened (for icing)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened (for icing)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (for icing)
  • 23 tbsp milk (adjust for consistency)
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate cookies (for topping)
  • Extra mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in the granulated sugar, egg, egg yolk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add 2 cups of flour and the salt, mixing well, then gradually add the remaining flour.
  4. Incorporate blue food coloring and knead until smooth and evenly colored.
  5. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1½ hours until doubled.
  6. Combine softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  7. Stir in crushed chocolate cookies and mini chocolate chips until well mixed.
  8. On a floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle (14 x 9 inches).
  9. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
  10. Roll it tightly from the long side and slice into 12 rolls.
  11. Place the rolls in a greased 9 x 13-inch dish. Cover and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes.
  12. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Beat cream cheese and softened butter until smooth.
  14. Mix in powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and enough milk for a creamy consistency.
  15. Drizzle the icing generously over warm rolls.
  16. Sprinkle with crushed cookies and additional chocolate chips if desired. Serve warm!
