Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add the egg, buttermilk, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just blended.
- Divide the dough into two parts, adding pink coloring to one and blue to the other, mixing until vibrant.
- Take small portions of each color and roll together to form balls, then flatten slightly on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are slightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on a wire rack before serving.
