Description
A comforting blend of tender steak and cheesy tortellini in a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste
- Smoked paprika, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat, then sear the steak until it reaches your preferred doneness (about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare). Remove from the pan and let rest.
- In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat and add minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and milk, stirring continuously, then add parmesan cheese, cooking until melted and the sauce thickens (about 3-5 minutes).
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, add the tortellini, and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and toss with the sauce.
- Slice the rested steak into strips and add to the tortellini and sauce, tossing gently to ensure everything is coated.
- Serve topped with chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper, if desired.
Notes
For added flavor, serve with a light salad or garlic bread to soak up the creamy sauce. If storing leftovers, add a splash of milk when reheating to restore creaminess.
