- 20 oz cheese tortellini (fresh or refrigerated)
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt and black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Season the steak generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat, add the steak, and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove and let it rest.
- In the same skillet, add the butter and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and milk, stirring while bringing to a gentle simmer.
- Whisk in the parmesan cheese until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
- Cook the tortellini according to the package instructions, drain, and add to the skillet.
- Slice the rested steak and mix it with the tortellini and sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper if desired.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, swap the steak for your favorite plant-based protein.
