Ingredients

  • 20 oz cheese tortellini (fresh or refrigerated)
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded
  • Chopped parsley, optional
  • Red pepper flakes, optional
  • Cracked black pepper, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the tortellini by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add the tortellini and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the steak by seasoning it with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Sear the steak in a skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side. Remove and let rest.
  4. Make the sauce by melting butter in the same skillet, then sautéing the garlic until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and milk, allowing it to simmer.
  5. Combine the tortellini with the sauce, stirring in parmesan until melted. Slice the rested steak and layer on top. Garnish as desired.

Notes

For a lighter dish, consider using half-and-half instead of heavy cream. Leftovers can last in the refrigerator for three days.
