Description
A rich and creamy pasta dish with tender penne, savory ground beef, and a luscious sauce that brings everyone to the table.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Boil water in a large pot, add the penne, and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain while reserving about a cup of the pasta water.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Toss in diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing for about five minutes until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned, around seven minutes.
- Lower the heat to medium-low, stir in the heavy cream, and gradually incorporate the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency. Mix in the grated Parmesan and let it melt.
- Gently toss the cooked penne with the sauce in the skillet to ensure every piece is coated. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Elevate the dish by serving with garlic bread or a fresh green salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
