Description
A comforting and creamy beef pasta dish, perfect for quick weeknight dinners or special gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil (for sautéing)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Begin by boiling salted water and cooking the penne until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
- Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, pour in olive oil. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking for about 5 minutes until fragrant.
- Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook while breaking it apart until it’s fully browned, about 7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Create the Sauce: Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually mix in the reserved pasta water until your sauce reaches the desired consistency. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until it’s melted and well incorporated.
- Combine: Gently fold in your cooked penne, ensuring every piece is coated in that delicious sauce.
- Serve Hot: Transfer to plates and garnish with extra Parmesan or fresh parsley if desired.
