Ingredients

- Fettuccine or spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream (or plant-based alternative)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1–2 teaspoons chili oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Lower the heat, mix in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until creamy.
- Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and chili oil to taste.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss with the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a vegan option, replace heavy cream with plant-based cream and ensure pasta is egg-free. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
