- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2–3 green chilies, slit
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil or ghee
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil or ghee in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies; sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook, allowing them to brown evenly.
- Mix in yogurt, heavy cream, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Stir well until combined.
- Cover the pan and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the sauce has thickened.
- Finish by sprinkling garam masala over the dish and garnishing with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, use coconut milk instead of heavy cream. You can substitute chicken with tofu or legumes for a vegetarian version.
