  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Non-Vegetarian

Description

A comforting creamy chicken curry that combines tender chicken with rich spices and a silky sauce, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 23 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil or ghee
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil or ghee in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies; sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and cook, allowing them to brown evenly.
  5. Mix in yogurt, heavy cream, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Stir well until combined.
  6. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the sauce has thickened.
  7. Finish by sprinkling garam masala over the dish and garnishing with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, use coconut milk instead of heavy cream. You can substitute chicken with tofu or legumes for a vegetarian version.
