  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Non-Vegetarian

Description

A comforting, creamy dish featuring Italian sausage and rigatoni pasta, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces rigatoni pasta
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the rigatoni according to package instructions. Once al dente, drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until it becomes translucent.
  3. Add the Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and allow it to cook for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream, stirring to combine smoothly.
  6. Add the cooked rigatoni to the skillet and mix until the pasta is well-coated.
  7. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Before serving, sprinkle with chopped parsley for a touch of freshness.

Notes

Feel free to use turkey or chicken sausage for a lighter option. If watching calories, substitutes like half-and-half can work in place of heavy cream.
