Description
A comforting and rich creamy pasta dish topped with perfectly seared steak, ideal for weeknight dinners or date nights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Sear the Steak: In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest before slicing.
- Sauté the Garlic: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Make the Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Combine: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing it in the creamy sauce to coat.
- Serve: Slice the steak and lay it over the pasta. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half and half. Consider adding sautéed vegetables like mushrooms or spinach for a twist.
