- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

- 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Slice the bread and arrange it in a greased baking dish.
- Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread slices, ensuring they soak well.
- Cover the dish and let it refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the dish covered for 30 minutes.
- Remove the cover, sprinkle brown sugar on top, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden and caramelized.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Use day-old French bread for better absorption. Customize with fruits, chocolate, or spices for different variations.
