Description

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples by peeling (if desired) and cutting them into fry-like sticks. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Set up three bowls: one with flour, another with whisked egg and milk, and the third with panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Coat each apple stick by dredging in flour, dipping in the egg mixture, and then coating with the breadcrumb mix.
  4. Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  5. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  6. Enjoy warm with your favorite dips like caramel sauce or yogurt.

Notes

For extra crispy fries, consider soaking the apple sticks in cold water with a squeeze of lemon juice for about 10 minutes before patting them dry.
