Crispy Air Fryer Churro Bites

  • Total Time: 27 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Delightful crispy churro bites made in the air fryer, with tender interiors and a warm cinnamon sugar flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a rolling boil, then remove from heat.
  2. Stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball of dough.
  3. Let the dough cool slightly. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Transfer the dough to a piping bag and pipe small bites onto a piece of parchment paper.
  6. Lightly spray the churro bites with cooking spray to help them crisp up.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, or until the bites are golden brown and crispy.
  8. In a bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll the churro bites in the mixture before serving.

Notes

For a healthier version, substitute coconut oil for butter and use gluten-free flour. To reheat, air fry for a few minutes to regain crispiness.
