Description
Delightful crispy churro bites made in the air fryer, with tender interiors and a warm cinnamon sugar flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a rolling boil, then remove from heat.
- Stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball of dough.
- Let the dough cool slightly. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag and pipe small bites onto a piece of parchment paper.
- Lightly spray the churro bites with cooking spray to help them crisp up.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, or until the bites are golden brown and crispy.
- In a bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll the churro bites in the mixture before serving.
Notes
For a healthier version, substitute coconut oil for butter and use gluten-free flour. To reheat, air fry for a few minutes to regain crispiness.
