- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup bread crumbs (preferably Italian-style)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 5 cloves of garlic, minced
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- 1 lemon (for zest and juice)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry using paper towels.
- Create a breading station with flour, whisked eggs, and a mixture of bread crumbs, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
- Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, then dip into the eggs, and finally coat with the bread crumb mixture.
- Arrange the breaded chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat, add minced garlic, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add lemon juice and zest to the saucepan, and mix in chopped parsley if desired.
- Serve the chicken with the garlic butter sauce drizzled over the top.
- Garnish with extra parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
For extra crunch, let the breaded chicken rest for 10 minutes before baking. Adjust garlic to taste for garlic lovers.
