Description

A comforting and easy Crock Pot Green Bean Casserole made with fresh green beans, creamy sauce, and crunchy French fried onions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 cups fresh green beans (trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces)
  • 1 cup French fried onions
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In the slow cooker, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, black pepper, and garlic powder until smooth.
  2. Add the green beans to the mixture and stir well to ensure they are coated.
  3. Cover the Crock Pot and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the green beans are tender but retain a bit of crunch.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and half of the French fried onions, mixing until the cheese is melted.
  5. Just before you’re ready to serve, top with the remaining French fried onions for a delightful crunch.

Notes

For a healthier twist, use homemade cream of mushroom soup or a dairy-free milk option. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
